Launched in 2020 by 5 professionals working across Bristol’s Adult Health and Care sector, we came together to form a Community Interest Company to support creative and art-based projects from the South West’s Recovery Community.
We bring ‘lived experience’ - of recovery services, criminal justice settings and life trauma. We have a vested interest in the promotion of inclusion, creating choice and breaking down societal barriers to opportunity. We work closely with individuals and small groups giving them support and structure to deliver their craft, enabling connection and inclusion for people from some of the most stigmatised and marginalised groups in society. We have over 25 years of extensive practice working with marginalised groups and work with a range of psychotherapeutic and creative approaches to supporting people through trauma into recovery.
Having worked together for many years building a large and diverse network of access to service users throughout the multiple areas of adult social care. We are a leading organisation that manages and delivers focus groups, feedback forums and evaluation events that give our clients the targeted data they need to act on and look to build on their engagement and delivery of their services.
Our work includes the delivery of a unique set of interventions for groups and individuals at the intersectionality of criminal justice engagement, homelessness, mental ill health, and women who have faced domestic and sexual violence. These groups are to be delivered in both a prison setting, assured premises and a community hub setting. Our partners for this pilot are; Bristol City Council. Interventions Alliance and The Nelson Trust.
We are dedicated to redressing many of the imbalances that ripple through sections of society, giving those who face stigma and the quietest voices an opportunity to shape their futures. Our objective is to achieve positive and long-lasting social change, with a particular focus on the issues that socially excluded groups face and the ways in which these issues can be addressed through service delivery and policy through innovation, action and persuasion.
